Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
Still fail with the freshly released repair.exe, screenshots and logs:

eve.exe
launcher.exe
ExeFile.exe worked once, then it broke once I ran the repair tool again.
* I'll also note that the initial run of the patcher this afternoon borked my EVE install as it tried to patch over Singularity instead of Tranquility local installs, then when I uninstalled Singularity it uninstalled Tranquility instead. The "light" web installer wouldn't download the payload files, so had to download the two huge payloads, then ofc now all my settings are gone/reset during that one time EVE worked. Not that it matters anymore because EVE doesn't work anymore per above.
Good grief. |

Let's see:
Get home from work early... CHECK Want to play EVE which finally worked again last night... CHECK Run EVE... CHECK Oh? New update patch again? Installing... CHECK
And now we're back at square one again. The client is AGAIN broken, with the same problems we had in the first 1.5 patch.
I don't think my other buddy is very happy either, seeing as his corp's POS are coming out of reinforcement and half of their defense fleet can't get online... :P |

Bravo sirs, bravo.
Love how they didn't credit the workaround finder, and also how they blamed ESET when every legit program isn't affected by SPI |

How many times of download do i have to persistantly do it every downtime everyday?
PETITION!!! PROTEST!!!!
WE WANT ROLL-BACK WE WANT ROLL-BACK WE WANT ROLL-BACK WE WANT ROLL-BACK WE WANT ROLL-BACK WE WANT ROLL-BACK WE WANT ROLL-BACK
Screw that, how about actually improving the game instead of changing module/ammo/item names around and making a pretty launcher that just adds an unnecessary step to getting into the game (and also breaks it).
A work analogy would be the idiot who insists on making the spreadsheet "pretty" with lots of colour and formatting, but fails to actually have it correctly calculate or transform anything. |

Hey raven666wings, appreciate the gesture to put me on your petition list, but I didn't say I was in support of your petition, and I'm guessing some of those others on the list are in the same boat.
We have a slight confluence of gripes, but my opinions and complaints are distinct and my own.
Please remove me from your list :-) |

I've found that the workaround would be to re-install the launcher so that it patches correctly. However we had to do this the other day as well with the last patch. It'll say the executable is a 16-bit program, per my previous screenshots.
In any case v1.11 of the launcher still corrupts on attempting to patch through that.
CCP Atropos asked me to send him a copy of my /launcher folder which I have done. |

CCP Atropos asked me to send him a copy of my /launcher folder which I have done. Are you running any type of a firewall / antivirus software or do you have a router with SPI filtering enabled? The issue with corruption is normally something filtering the http wrapped rsync protocol that CCP has adopted for it's launcher. So a number of firewalls that check to insure that packets that meet the SPI filter requirement which rsync does not do properly are causing the launcher, repair tool, and several other files to become corrupt thus giving you the error messages you're getting. CCP fails to see the problem with using rsync wrapped via http ranged requests and has refused to admit their own fault as opposed to taking up the position that the companies that produce the firewalls need to release patches to their software. I had the same issues with the launcher showing as a non-32bit / 64bit program. You might try to completely disable your firewall or AV software and check the router to assure that you're not running SPI filtering anywhere in the router. This *should* allow you to download without any further corruption. You'll need to download a new repair tool and run it again. There are links to the repair tool that CCP has posted throughout this thread so I'm sure you can find one of them to download and drop into your Eve directory and launch it to fix the problem if this is the case. Good luck.
Thanks for the info Agonis, but no the repair tool will still fail with the old symptoms. The only way I was able to fix it was to run the launcher installer again.
I have ESET AV but SPI is disabled for the 4 EVE executables (eve.exe, repair.exe, launcher.exe, exefile.exe). The culprit is launcher.exe tbh.
I think they should just fix the launcher; better yet just remove it as it doesn't really introduce anything else that's useful than was there before.

I made the exceptions the first day and it worked just fine. The next day after they patched something else I ended up having to completely disable the protocol filtering and it worked just fine. Try that and see what happens because as I said, the data corruption issue has been synonymous with the SPI and protocol filtering of firewalls throughout the last 5 days. It's worth a try at the least.
I'll try that next DT, when I expect EVE to get smashed again due to some new patch :-D |

Well, attempted to run EVE today and my self-created shortcut to ExeFile.exe complains that the actual executable is "missing."
I look at the EVE installation directory and it's empty except for resui.stuff.
I don't recall uninstalling EVE during my sleep, so what the heck? |

Hmm new patch, and......
EVE is broken again :P
It throws the same errors I provided the screenshots for days ago.
I've tried a few things: 1) running patch (throws same error) 2) running repair.exe (throws same error) 3) running launcher installer (doesn't automatically run the launcher anymore after install)
Why is there not a permanent fix for the issues yet? At least some root cause shared instead of "try rebooting your PC and running repair.exe"? |

I still can't get onto EVE, even with my ESET AV disabled (previously it had SPI allow-rules for EVE).
As I mentioned, the same issues that I provided screenshots for days ago in this thread are still there.
Previously I was able to get it patched by running the launcher installer but that's not working this time around (it still says that the launcher is a 16-bit application). ExeFile says that it's corrupted, and repair.exe fails.
CCP Atropos had me help him before by providing my 1.11 launcher files, but I haven't heard anything back from him since (it's been like 4 days). |

Except for people who have borked launchers that say they can't run in a 32-bit or 64-bit system (per screenshot I provided days ago).
Due to this I can't run the launcher to manually patch with the files you guys shared.

New patch apparently.
EVE broke again.
Launcher, repair, exefile all broken per the screenshots I gave last week.
I guess I can't get on EVE until someone gives me a zip of their entire working launcher folder. |
